West Kelowna, BC, Sept. 24th, 6:00pm-8:00pm
SUMMARY: Grizzli Winery to showcase their passion for art with the grand opening of their Art Gallery, located in one of Canada’s largest and most elegant tasting rooms. Gallery Opening on Thursday, Sept. 24th from 6:00 pm-8:00 pm.
The Grizzli Winery experience will now extend beyond wine and aims to showcase another passion of theirs- ART! The Grizzli Gallery will be located inside of their wine shop, which boasts one of Canada’s largest and most elegant tasting rooms. The Art Gallery will specialize in Okanagan works in a series of changing exhibitions that will rotate seasonally.
The first exhibit for Fall 2020 will feature local Okanagan artist Randall Young’s: ‘Layers of Time’, an exploration of the world around us through oil and acrylic painting; an evolution of themes and styles over his career.
Randall Young is a visual artist with roots in two provinces.
A childhood spent in the foothills of Alberta honed his deep appreciation of nature. He spent most summer weekends camping, fishing and hiking in the towering Rockies near Banff, Alberta with his parents, brother and three sisters. This constant, calming refuge rooted Randall’s great love and closeness to his family. His keen, observing eyes drank in the colours of nature and are poured upon the canvas in landscapes, great beasts and riotous skies.
Randall left the foothills a few years ago. For a while, he stayed in the Crowsnest Pass where he developed a fond and strong bond with the arts community of those rugged, windy hamlets. Now making his home in the South Okanagan, Randall is continually inspired by the natural splendour of the region and the calm lifestyle. While enjoying an artistic exploration of the landscapes and local flavours, Randall Young creates with increasing exuberant personal expression.
Join them on Thursday, September 24th from 6:00 pm-8:00 pm for the official opening of Grizzli Gallery! Meet the Artist, Randall Young, Sip wine by the glass and listen to the sultry sounds of local jazz duo The Double Sharp Duet as you peruse Randall Young’s exquisite work.

Artist’s Statement on his Grizzli Art Gallery exhibition titled ‘Layers of Time’
“I am fascinated by the notion that nature and its inhabitants exist as temporal layers in our landscape. Sometimes we see things unchanged in form as they might have been 10,000 years ago. At other times, a remnant of the past, still extant in the changing landscape; is a shadow undercoat of life in the valley. There is a poignant beauty in that tension, that insistence for existence. We become aware that, without our continual struggle to exist here, those who have walked before will, once more, live in the foreground. I would like to acknowledge that we are on the traditional, ancestral, unceded territory of the Syilx/Okanagan People.”
