Vinequity Partners with Veritas Charity Services to Issue Charitable Tax Receipts For Holiday Giving in Canada and the US

[TORONTO, December 1, 2023] Vinequity is excited to announce their collaboration with Veritas Charity Services to enable charitable tax receipts for every dollar donated from Canada and the United States to the Vinequity Education Fund.

Vinequity Education Fund in Partnership with Veritas Charity Services

As an advocacy body, one of Vinequity’s mandates is to grow its scholarship fund with the financial support from businesses and individuals. Since its founding, the Vinequity Education Fund has raised and granted a total of $70,050 to more than 35 recipients in Canada that has been used towards academic pursuits to enrich their knowledge in the production and commercialization of wine.

Vinequity’s partnership with Veritas Charity Services makes it possible for donors to receive charitable tax receipts through monetary donations. Today’s announcement builds on their existing relationship with donors by responding to their needs for tax-deductible incentives, and by enabling charitable giving from two countries. Now, Canadians and Americans will be able to donate to Vinequity through Veritas Charity Services.

Vinequity is a not-for-profit organization of wine professionals working to advocate for the Black, Indigenous, and People of Colour (BIPOC) community who are affected by inequitable treatment, financial obstacles, and systemic barriers, through developmental opportunities to become visible leaders in wine, and by doing so, to help one of the world’s oldest beverages reach North America’s diverse population.

“Since our founding in 2020, our education fund has helped the BIPOC community grow into positions of influence, which is helping the wine category reach a more diverse audience,” said Sheridan King, Vinequity’s Project Administration Officer. “The success of our Holiday fundraising campaign will allow us to scale our grassroots efforts, break down systemic barriers, and help this beverage category cast a wider reach within Canada.”

The goal of Vinequity’s Holiday Campaign is to raise $50,000 by the end of the year. 89% of the donations received will be granted directly to the scholarship recipients in 2024 and to support the wine education of BIPOC communities.

The Holiday fundraising campaign will run until the end of 2023, providing ample time for supporters to contribute to this cause.
