Cowichan Valley, Vancouver Island – September 2025 – Earlier this month, Blue Grouse Estate Winery unveiled its newly renovated Tasting Room in the heart of the Cowichan Valley. This marks the 10th anniversary of the Blue Grouse tasting room that was opened in 2015. Currently open seven days a week, from 11am to 6pm, it is the perfect place to enjoy the views of the surrounding vineyards and mountains and an expertly guided tasting adventure.
Right now, in the upgraded Mezzanine space, customers can experience a series of new tasting experiences featuring wines made by Blue Grouse’s new winemaker, Stacy Horneman.
The reimagining of the Mezzanine space was brought to life by Victoria’s renowned interior design firm, Bidgood (Brentwood Bay Resort, Sherwood, and Wind Cries Mary) and pays homage to the captivating hues and diverse landscapes of the Blue Grouse Estate Vineyards and the beautiful Cowichan Valley, promising a truly immersive experience.
“We balanced the modernist lines of the existing building and layered in some warmth—textured materials, comfortable seating, and a focus on sightlines that pull the Cowichan Valley in. The finished room is an intimate, approachable space that opens to the view and invites conversation,” said Kyla Bidgood, the creative mind behind the transformation.
From the introductory Guided Tasting to the Maiden Vintage Experience to Bubbles of the Island, each tasting offers an enthralling journey through the portfolio, while the reinvigorated space invites you to enjoy the Blue Grouse world of wine while taking in gorgeous views.
Blue Grouse, with winemaker Stacy Horneman now at the helm, is renowned for crafting sparkling Charme de l’Île, aromatic white varieties unique to Vancouver Island, as well as Pinot Noir and Chardonnay that capture the essence and unique characteristics of the Blue Grouse Estate.
