Harvest 2023

Harvest for the 2023 vintage began for us with our seven-star sparkling wines on August 22nd, with Viognier from North Oliver. A short six weeks later, on October 6th, we wrapped up harvest with Cabernet Franc grapes from south Osoyoos. Of particular note, it was the earliest we have ever completed a harvest, a testament to this year’s unique conditions.

The 2023 season began with challenges posed by an extreme winter cold spell, with temperatures plummeting into -20°C territory. While the colder temperatures reduced our yields, they led to fewer clusters on the vines this season. This set the stage for rapid ripening when the warm summer and fall weather graced the south Okanagan. Overall, the fruit is well-rounded and perfectly ripened, with good flavours showing in the whites and intense, concentrated reds that beautifully embody the essence of our various vineyards’ terroir.

2023 Vintage: Concentration and Early Ripening

Township 7 Gewürztraminer 2023

Township 7 Gewürztraminer with Salmon Quiche

Produced from hand-harvested fruit from the respected Wheelers Family Vineyard on the Naramata Bench, this vintage was split evenly between neutral French oak barrels and stainless steel fermentation. The stainless-steel portion, fermented cool at 14°C for two months, preserved bright, lifted aromatics, while the warmer barrel fermentation added richness and palate weight. Batonnage was used on the barrel-fermented portion to enhance lees contact, building complexity and balance. The final wine is elegantly composed, seamlessly uniting aromatic lift with refined texture and depth.

Alc. 14.2% | pH 3.42 | TA 6.1 g/L | RS 9.4 g/L | Vegan

Perfumed and inviting, this off-dry Gewürztraminer opens with rose petal, lychee, orange zest, and a touch of ginger spice. The palate is rich yet vibrant, with Mandarin, peach, and apricot wrapped in a smooth, velvety texture. Lively acidity keeps everything fresh, leading to a long, exotic, spice-tinged finish. 91 Points

Township 7 Riesling 2023

Township 7 Riesling with Baked Steelhead Trout

Crafted from 100% Riesling grown at Fool’s Gold Vineyard in North Oliver, this wine highlights both a top site and strong vineyard pedigree. The fruit was gently pressed, cold settled, and fermented mainly in concrete, with a small portion in stainless steel. A three-week fermentation preserved fresh aromatics, while the concrete added subtle texture and weight. Balanced and precise, this Riesling is built to age gracefully over the next few years.

Alc. 12.8% | pH 3.15 | TA 7.1 g/L | RS 4.9 g/L | Vegan

A dry, Trocken-style Riesling with lifted aromas of apple blossom, citrus peel, and delicate stone fruit. The palate is vibrant and precise, driven by bright acidity and a fine mineral backbone, showing layers of key lime, Meyer lemon, and golden apple, with subtle hints of pineapple and apricot adding depth. There’s an almost effervescent energy to the texture, giving the wine lift and tension through the mid-palate. It finishes clean and focused, with a lingering mineral edge and excellent balance. Seamless, refined, and highly refreshing, with the structure to evolve over the next few years. 92 Points

Harvest 2025

Township 7 Vineyards & Winery Harvest 2025

The harvest has brought both surprises and excitement to our team. We’re seeing larger yields than ever before, with fruit arriving earlier and in greater volume across our vineyards. The quality has been strong, showing good natural acidity and vibrant flavour development.

It’s been a whirlwind vintage; everything is coming in early and in heavy volume, which keeps our team on their toes. The biggest challenge this year has been securing enough cooperage to accommodate the abundance of fruit — a great problem to have.

White varietals have shown good yields and excellent freshness.

2025 Vintage: Volume and Freshness

Township 7 Sauvignon Blanc 2025

Sourced from the Blue Terrace Estate Vineyard in north Oliver, this Sauvignon Blanc is crafted using a mix of stainless steel and barrel fermentation. The cool stainless portion preserves bright varietal character, while a small barrel-fermented component (16–18°C) adds subtle roundness and enhances the wine’s tropical profile.

Alc. 13.9% | pH 3.41 | TA 6.3 g/L | RS 2.7 g/L | Vegan

Bright and refreshing, with aromas of tropical fruit and fresh lime zest. The palate delivers passion fruit, citrus, and a clean, crisp finish with lively acidity and excellent lift. A polished, modern Okanagan Sauvignon Blanc. 91 Points

Township 7 Pinot Gris 2025

A Naramata Bench blend from Loveridge, Paisley, and the Estate vineyard, this Pinot Gris was fermented entirely in stainless steel at cool temperatures (14°C) to preserve freshness and aromatic purity.

Alc. 14.3% | pH 3.41 | TA 6.3 g/L | RS 2.7 g/L | Vegan

Fresh and fruit-driven, opening with pear, apricot, and honeysuckle, layered with a subtle wet-stone minerality. The palate is smooth and vibrant, showing orchard fruit, a crisp, refreshing finish, and lingering mineral notes. Clean, balanced, and highly versatile at the table. 91 Points
