Dirty Laundry Vineyards is one of our go to wineries when we have friends or family visiting the Okanagan Valley. Why? The extensive wine tastings and the fabulous patio for taking in the Summerland views, including the Kettle Valley Railroad. For more background on the winery please check out our earlier post – Dirty Laundry’s Grande Dame.
The Patio
During the last visit, we took advantage of the updated outside wine tasting area. No coolers allowed, but the winery has a good selection of lunch items and reasonably priced wine by the glass or bottle.
The Wines
Dirty Laundry Hush 2016 – An approachable woman of pleasure; an enticing blend of Pinot Noir, Merlot & Cabernet Franc lends flavours of freshly picked strawberries, red currant and watermelon. Really quenches the thirst on a hot Okanagan summer day.
Dirty Laundry Virgin Viognier 2016 – Pure, smooth & delightfully racy, this lady explodes with aromatics the moment her cap is removed. This beauty boasts intense aromas of rose petal & honeysuckle balanced by delicious notes of ripe nectarines & tangerines with a dry finish. This was our favourite white.
Dirty Laundry Merlot 2014 – Aromas & flavours of ripe raspberries, purple plums, dark chocolate & hints of espresso. Wine is only 13.9% alcohol so can’t wait to try the bigger 2015.
Dirty Laundry Kay- Syrah 2014 My favourite Dirty Laundry red. Full of aromas of lavender, white pepper, ripe berry fruits with a hint of vanilla from ageing in French Oak.
If you are in the Summerland area make sure you stop at Dirty Laundry Vineyards and remember you can taste for free!
