FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: In partnership with Breast Cancer Canada, Mayhem Wines is excited to announce our upcoming campaign supporting Breast Cancer research and awareness.
To kick off the campaign, we are releasing a pet project of our winemaker Ajay Chavan; a limited-edition Breast Cancer Canada 1.5L Magnum Rosé. Only 72 bottles were produced which are available in our tasting room only. This is an idea close to his heart having lost a close family member at an early age to breast cancer and understanding firsthand the effects on all families from this devastating disease.
For the entire month of May, Mayhem will be donating $5 from every magnum sold to Breast Cancer Canada, as well as all tasting fees collected, and accepting donations in the tasting room or online at https://bcsc.akaraisin.com/ui/KnowMoreRaiseMore/t/mayhemwines
Breast cancer facts:
- There are over 50 types of Breast Cancer each with their own challenges and demands and specific treatments.
- Breast Cancer is the most diagnosed cancer amongst Canadian women and an estimated 27,900 Canadians are diagnosed with breast cancer every year.
- Breast Cancer Canada does not receive government funding, all their research is driven by the generosity of donors. They are the only Canadian organization that is laser focused on Breast Cancer research.
- 1 in 8 women will develop Breast Cancer in her lifetime. Regular screening mammograms can find breast cancer early, usually before it has spread. In BC (and most provinces), mammogram screening is available to women at no-cost as early as age 40.

Winemaker Ajay Chavan
Winemaker Ajay Chavan was born in Australia, raised in New Zealand and attended Lincoln University on a cricket scholarship. He spent several vintages in New Zealand, five years at Checkmate Winery in the Okanagan, and this will be his fifth vintage with Mayhem. He is known for his winemaking style of crisp, clean aromatic whites and round, elegant reds. He spends his free time (if a winemaker ever has free time) playing volleyball, baseball, and loves to drink beer.
