2022 Growing Season & Vintage

The 2022 growing season in the Okanagan was generally favourable for grape cultivation. The season had a late start due to cooler spring weather, but the summer months saw ideal temperatures, resulting in good fruit development and concentration. Harvest was slightly delayed, but the conditions were balanced, producing healthy, ripe grapes. Overall, 2022 is considered a solid vintage, with good quality fruit, especially for reds like Pinot Noir.

Moraine Estate Pinot Noir

The Estate Pinot Noir is considered a standout wine from Moraine. It is typically noted for its elegance, complexity, and balance. Key characteristics include:

  • Aromas: Red berries (like cherry and raspberry), earthy tones and hints of spice.
  • Palate: Silky texture with flavours of dark fruits, a touch of oak, and soft tannins.
  • Finish: Long and smooth, with an earthy minerality typical of Naramata Bench terroir. This wine is well-regarded and often receives positive reviews for its depth and ability to age gracefully.

100% Estate-grown Pinot Noir from our Sophia Vineyard.  Hand-picked and spontaneously fermented in small 1-ton vats, punched down daily by hand. A classic representation of Clone 777 Pinot Noir.
