Oliver, BC – 11.05.2025 – Winemaker’s CUT is thrilled to announce the launch of their new range of no- and low-alcohol wines and ciders, which honour the owners’ Slovakian heritage and the artistry and craft of winemaking. A dedicated tasting room, The Opera Room, is now open at District Wine Village in Oliver, BC. The first of its kind in British Columbia, The Opera Room will provide a refined tasting experience for those seeking no- and low-alcohol options.
Michal Mosny, owner and winemaker of Winemaker’s CUT and The Opera Room, grew up in Slovakia making traditional non-alcoholic wine alternatives with botanicals. He used these same recipes when he decided to craft his own variations made from real juice and a proprietary herb extract. No preservatives were used.

With a growing movement toward mindful consumption, The Opera Room reflects a shift in wine consumption while maintaining the craftsmanship of wine and cider production. When asked about the project Michal said, “wine culture is evolving, and we want to ensure that everyone — whether they drink or not — can enjoy the experience, the flavours, and the community that makes this region special. We’re excited to bring something entirely new to District Wine Village, while staying true to our vision at Winemaker’s CUT.”
The portfolio includes three 0% ABV Piquettes, which are non-alcoholic wine alternatives crafted with a carefully selected recipe of botanicals. The 0% Piquette Blanc is crafted from Muscat grapes, the 0% Piquette Rosé is crafted from Merlot grapes, and the 0% Piquette Apple is crafted from local Gala apples. They are infused with a proprietary blend of herbs and sparkling water. The low alcohol options in The Opera Room’s portfolio include: a 4.5% ABV Spritzer that’s lightly carbonated and crafted from estate- made wine with elderflower syrup; a 6.9% ABV Plum Cider crafted from local Gala apples and plums; and a 7.0% ABV Cranberry Cider crafted from local Ambrosia apples and cranberries.

The Opera Room’s dealcoholized wine options, Incognito Blanc and Rosé, are produced from 100% British Columbia-grown grapes and estate-made wine. The alcohol was gently removed, resulting in an alcohol level of only 0.6% without compromising the taste and flavour.
Originally from Slovakia where they ran a small winery, owners Michal and Martina Mosny moved to the Okanagan in 2011. Michal founded the acclaimed Winemaker’s CUT and has been the winemaker behind their food friendly, lower in alcohol wines. With his pioneering spirit, Michal set out to build The Opera Room so that all visitors could taste the Okanagan’s unique terroir.
“The Opera Room is part of our commitment at the District Wine Village to make our local, artisanal food and drink community even more accessible,” said Matt Kenyon, the District’s founder and owner. “This year, we’re also welcoming the addition of a bakery and coffee roaster, showcasing the diversity of offerings available in the Okanagan.”
The Opera Room’s grand opening will be Easter Weekend at the District Wine Village, Oliver, B.C. Visitors are invited to explore the space, sample the distinguished selection of no- and low-alcohol wines and ciders, and be part of this exciting new chapter in Okanagan wine country.
The Opera Room’s range of no- and low-alcohol wines and ciders will be available starting April 21st, 2025 directly from winemakerscut.ca, The Opera Room, and through fine retailers.
