This month marks a special milestone — 10 years of BCWineTrends. What started as a simple idea to share my passion for wine has evolved into a platform featuring over 700 articles that celebrate BC wineries, wine industry trends, and wine economics. Along the way, I’ve visited wineries across three continents — yet my focus has always remained on the wines of British Columbia.
From the beginning, the objective of BCWineTrends has been straightforward: to cut through the marketing hype and deliver information of genuine value to BC wine enthusiasts. Whether that means shining a light on small family-run vineyards, highlighting economic challenges in the industry, or seeking out the very best value wines, I’ve worked to be a trusted, independent voice for the BC wine community.
Growing the Community
- A weekly newsletter with over 1,000 readers passionate about BC wine.
- A Facebook community of more than 1,000 followers (page + group combined).
- An Instagram audience of over 4,000 followers at @bcwinetrends.
- Recognition as one of the top Canadian reviewers on Vivino, with reviews ranked in the Top 100 in Canada.
A Toast of Thanks 🍷
Over the years, many wineries have generously shared samples, enabling me to write in-depth reviews and maintain a steady flow of content. A heartfelt thank you to:

And thank you also to the companies that have enhanced the BC wine experience with their thoughtful contributions: Copain de Vin (portable wine glasses), Gone Crackers, and JOSEPHINEN HÜTTE glassware.
Appreciation as well to fellow Canadian wine writers whose work, wisdom, and encouragement have helped along the way: John Schreiner, Brent Gushowaty, Kristof Gillese, Sam Hauck, Karl Kliparchuk, and Natalie MacLean.
Looking Ahead
The past decade has been a remarkable journey — but BC wine is only just beginning to realize its potential on the world stage. My goal remains the same: to share honest insights, highlight outstanding wines, and guide readers toward the best values in BC wine.
Thank you to every reader, follower, winery, and colleague who has joined me on this adventure. Here’s to the next 10 years of discovery, collaboration, and celebrating the best of BC wine!
Cheers,
Julian Park
