Church and State have released three exceptional traditional method sparkling wines just in time for Christmas and the Holiday season. The Chardonnay grapes come from Black Sage in Oliver and the Pinot Noir and Pinot Gris from Brentwood Bay.

Church and State Blanc de Blancs 2018 ($33.75)

Church and State Blanc de Blancs 2018 ($33.75)

“This is the first vintage of this traditional method, brut nature Chardonnay. Our 2018 Blanc de Blancs spent 30 months on the lees at our sparkling wine house in Brentwood Bay. The fruit for this wine comes from our Détente vineyard on the Black Sage Bench. A terroir that ripens Chardonnay perfectly for this method of wine making.”

Alcohol: 12.5% / TA 7.2 / RS 5.0

The perfect Christmas apéritif. The sparkling wine has a pale straw colour with green hues. The nose opens with citrus notes and white orchard blossoms. A luscious mouthfeel with a multitude of delicate fine bubbles. Flavours of ripe apples and Meyer lemon. 92 points.

Church and State Gris de Noirs 2020 ($33.75)

Church and State Gris de Noirs 2020 ($33.75)

This is the second vintage of the sparkling Rosé made by Church and State. The first vintage was so flavour-rich that we ordered a case! The Pinot Noir grapes were sourced from the four-hectare estate Brentwood Bay vineyard on Vancouver Island.

Alcohol: 11.9% / TA 9.2 g/L / RS 13.9 g/L

The Pinot Noir grapes were fermented in stainless steel tanks and then aged in bottles after the second fermentation for at least 12 months.

A gorgeous pale salmon hue.  Aromas of fresh strawberries and rose petals with a hint of hazelnut.  Full of luscious ripe peach, with a hint of strawberry and blackberry. The exciting creamy mousse mouthfeel is also perfectly balanced and refreshing. 93 Points.
