Noble Ridge: Excellence in Every Vintage

Reading Time: 4 minutes

I’ve been enjoying the wines of Noble Ridge Vineyard & Winery since 2017, and it’s been remarkable to see how their Méthode Traditionnelle sparkling wines continue to raise the bar with every vintage. Owners Jim and Leslie D’Andrea have built a true South Okanagan gem — one that blends craftsmanship, hospitality, and breathtaking vineyard views overlooking Vaseux Lake, among the most scenic in the valley.

Under the leadership of General Manager and Winemaker Benoit Gauthier, Noble Ridge has refined its focus on premium, estate-grown wines that balance elegance with expressive terroir. While their traditional sparkling wines — The One and The Pink One — have become some of BC’s finest, the winery also produces exceptional reds that showcase depth, structure, and age-worthiness. Noble Ridge continues to embody its motto: “The Noble Blend of Place and Passion.”

Now for the three sparkling wines.

Noble Ridge The One Grand Reserve 2017 ($49.99)

Noble Ridge The One 2017 Grand Reserve with Thanksgiving Rack of Lamb
Noble Ridge “The One”  Grand Reserve 2017 with Thanksgiving Rack of Lamb

Okanagan Falls Sub-GI
78% Chardonnay | 22% Pinot Noir

Crafted from estate-grown Chardonnay (Clones 76 and 95, planted in 2003) and Pinot Noir (Clones 114, 115, and 777, planted between 2001 and 2008), this Grand Reserve represents the pinnacle of Noble Ridge’s sparkling program. The grapes were whole-cluster pressed and cool fermented, with secondary fermentation in bottle and an extraordinary 66 months en tirage to develop its signature depth and finesse.

12.1% Alc. | pH 3.15 | TA 6.6 g/L | RS 2.5 g/L

In the glass, it shines pale straw with fine, persistent bubbles. The nose opens with brioche and lemon curd, layered with hints of green apple, toasted almond, and wet stone. On the palate, it’s elegant yet powerful—creamy and textured with vibrant acidity, unfolding notes of Meyer lemon, pear, and subtle minerality. The finish is long, refined, and endlessly graceful. 95 Points

A stunning evolution of “The One,” where extended aging adds new layers of complexity and sophistication. A true benchmark for BC sparkling wine.

Noble Ridge "The One"  Grand Reserve 2017

Noble Ridge “The One” 2018 ($34.99)

Okanagan Falls Sub-GI
72% Chardonnay | 28% Pinot Noir

From estate vineyards overlooking Vaseux Lake, this elegant Méthode Traditionnelle sparkling wine blends Chardonnay (Clones 76 and 95, planted 2003) with Pinot Noir (Clones 114, 115, and 777, planted between 2001 and 2008). The fruit was whole-cluster pressed and cool fermented, then aged 47 months en tirage, allowing the wine to develop its signature creamy texture and refined bead.

12.1% Alc. | pH 3.28 | TA 7.4 g/L | RS 6.0 g/L | Brix 18.0

“The One” shows a pale straw hue with a fine, persistent mousse. The nose opens with buttery pastry and brioche, followed by delicate notes of green apple, lemon zest, and yellow plum. On the palate, it’s vibrant and creamy, balancing fresh citrus and orchard fruit with subtle toasty undertones. The finish is long, lifted, and beautifully refreshing — a classic expression of Noble Ridge craftsmanship. 93 Points

Graceful, layered, and effortlessly drinkable — The One 2018 continues Noble Ridge’s streak of world-class sparkling wines.

Noble Ridge The Pink One 2020 ($34.99)

Okanagan Falls Sub-GI
100% Pinot Noir

Crafted entirely from estate-grown Pinot Noir in Okanagan Falls, this radiant sparkling rosé captures both the elegance and energy of Noble Ridge’s terroir. The grapes received four hours of skin contact before the free-run juice was cool-fermented. Produced in the Méthode Traditionnelle and aged 42 months en tirage, it reveals remarkable finesse and balance.

12.1% Alc. | pH 3.06 | TA 6.8g/L | RS 2.3 g/L

In the glass, it glows a vivid salmon pink with a fine, persistent mousse. The nose bursts with fresh strawberry, rose petals, and a hint of hazelnut. On the palate, lively flavours of cherry, raspberry, and baked pear are layered with subtle brioche and earthy undertones. The texture is creamy yet crisp, leading to a dry, graceful finish that invites another sip. 91 Points

Elegant, expressive, and full of charm — The Pink One 2020 is a sparkling rosé that shines with both poise and personality.
