Red Rooster Winery Reintroduces Its Iconic Rooster as Naramata Bench Estate Readies for 2026 Visitor Season

[Naramata Bench, BC] May 6, 2026
Red Rooster Winery is back on the Naramata Bench.
After a period of closure, vineyard loss, and rebuilding, one of the region’s original and most recognizable wineries has reopened its doors, replanted its vineyards, and entered a new chapter defined by resilience, renewal, and a return to its roots.
Open again since 2024, Red Rooster Winery is now unveiling a refreshed label design that brings its iconic rooster back to centre stage. The updated look honours more than 25 years of winemaking on the Naramata Bench while signalling a confident new era for the estate.

“Since our inaugural vintage in 1997, Red Rooster has always called the Naramata Bench home,” said the winery team. “Winemaking is serious work, but wine itself should be enjoyed. The rooster has always represented that spirit. Bold, authentic, and a little mischievous. Its return feels like coming home.”
The winery gets its name from an actual red rooster owned by the winery founders in the 90s. The modernized labels place the rooster front and centre, reflecting the personality that has defined Red Rooster from the beginning.
While the design has evolved, the winery’s focus remains unchanged: thoughtful, expressive wines shaped by place.
There are many wineries near Penticton, but only one Red Rooster. From one of the most scenic and recognizable vineyard properties on the Naramata Bench, the winery has welcomed hundreds of thousands of visitors over the years for tastings, celebrations, and milestone moments. That legacy now continues with renewed energy.
To mark the reopening and label relaunch, Red Rooster Winery is inviting the public to experience the return firsthand.
On Saturday, May 23, from 11:00 am to 6:00 pm, the winery will host a complimentary Summer Kickoff Festival. The event will feature wine stations pouring Red Rooster favourites, live music from 12:00 pm to 6:00 pm, local artisan vendors, lawn games, and food from The Wienery. Guests can also meet goats from GottaGoat Farm between 11:00 am and 2:00 pm.
The event is open to the public, with no tickets required. Guests are encouraged to bring friends and enjoy a relaxed day of wine, community, and fresh air on the Bench.
The refreshed labels are now rolling out across Red Rooster’s portfolio, with all new releases from the 2025 vintage onward featuring the updated design. Wines are available through select retailers and restaurants, and directly from the winery on Naramata Road.
