“There was a bit of uncertainty in the growing season but we made it there; the Okanagan is called a wine region for a reason!

It was wet and cold at the beginning of September which again cast a bit of doubt, but the above-average September and October weather pulled us through to ripen this 2022 crop. Yields are back where they should be and the quality of flavours is on point.

My crew has been keen to get going and while last year we finished harvest Oct 14th, this year that’s mainly when it all started – aside from bubbles.

Whites and reds started flying in from October 15th onwards and likely last for the next 2-3 weeks as we will be fighting colder weather by the end of October!

Vineyards are resilient and are looking great considering the year they’ve been given.”

Hand-harvested, and hand sorted, the Sauvignon Blanc comes from the Silver Barrel Vineyard between Penticton and Okanagan Falls. The grapes were whole-bunch pressed followed by a slow cool ferment and then straight to the bottle to capture all the aromatics.

Aromas of citrus, and tropical fruits with floral notes. Flavours of pineapple, honeydew melon and passionfruit with green apple on the finish. A perfectly balanced wine. 91 Points

Chronos Pinot Gris ($24.99)

Chronos Pinot Gris with BBQ chicken

Hand harvested and hand sorted, the Pinot Gris comes from a small family vineyard in Summerland with ideal conditions and breathtaking views.  The grapes were whole bunch pressed and fermented at cool temperatures to retain the fresh fruit aromas.  The wine remained on lees after fermentation for two months to add texture and character.

Alcohol 12.7% | TA 7.0 | pH 3.47 | RS 4.5

Light aromas of ripe peach and pear with a hint of tropical fruit. Flavours of pineapple, yellow peach, honeydew melon and a touch of grapefruit on the finish. A crisp lively Pinot Gris with a creamy texture and a hint of minerality. 91 Points

Chronos Rosé 2022 ($25.99)

Hand Harvest and hand sorted. The Syrah this wine is made from is grown very specifically to be rosé coming from the same site as the Sauvignon Blanc, a spot overlooking the lake between Penticton and OK Falls. This wine was entirely whole bunch pressed with little to no skin contact before it was gently pressed out creating a light pink colour. Fermented with a yeast known for developing natural fruit flavours over 10 days at low temperatures.

Alcohol 13.0% | TA 7.1 g/L | pH 3.44 | RS 4 g/L

Fragrant aromas of strawberry, watermelon and red berries. The medium body Rosé has flavours of strawberry, cranberry, lemon zest and a hint of white pepper on the finish. 90 Points

Chronos Cabernet Sauvignon 2020 ($39.99)

The grapes were carefully sorted and gently pressed. The wine saw a combination of French and American oak, 20% new oak.

Alcohol 13.7% | TA 5.5 | pH 3.44 | RS 3.5

A medium plus bodied red. Dynamic aromas of black cherry, black currant and fig. Rich flavours of black cherry, dark plum and leather with a touch of tobacco. A juicy mouthfeel with smooth tannins, deep complex flavours and a long finish.  91 Points

Chronos Merlot 2020 ($29.99)

Gently hand sorted, fermented with a touch of carbonic maceration to accentuate the dark and red fruits. Gentle daily pump-overs and pressed off immediately after fermentation. Aged with 20% new French Oak.

Alcohol 13.8% | TA 6.1 | pH 3.27 | RS 3.5

This is a young Merlot so aerate before serving. Vibrant aromas of blackberry, black currant and lavender. The medium-body Merlot has ripe flavours of blackberry, black cherry, espresso and leather. Smooth ripe tannins with a lengthy finish. 91 points

Chronos Syrah 2020 ($39.99)

The Syrah was fermented in 3 separate open-top tanks with daily punch-downs. It was then pressed and put into a combination of French and American oak.

Alcohol 13.2% | TA 5.9 | pH 3.35 | RS 4.0

This is an elegant Syrah that is ready to drink right now. Delightful aromas of red cherry, blueberry and herbs. On the palate more cherry, blueberry and coffee with a hint of baking spice. Silky fine-grained tannins lead to a lengthy finish. 92 Points.
